PHOENIX, AZ — Police arrested three people in connection with three separate shooting deaths that happened in Phoenix over the weekend. A fourth remains under investigation.
Ebony Willis, 25, was booked into jail Tuesday on suspicion of first-degree murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault in connection with the shooting death of Dallas Summers, 27.
Summers was one of two men who were shot around 5 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of 44th and Van Buren streets, according to Phoenix police. Summers was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other man was taken to a local hospital.
Witnesses heard yelling and an argument prior to the shooting, police said.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Erick Daniel Rodriguez, 16. Police did not release the name of the teen who was charged because he is a minor.
Phoenix police said they found Rodriguez around 1:40 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Cave Creek Road and Greenway Parkway.
The teen was pronounced dead at a local hospital, police said. Rodriguez had left a nearby party shortly before he was shot, police said.
Morion Collins, 23, was arrested and booked into county jail on suspicion of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Tyrone Thompson, 40.
Thompson died Saturday after he was involved in an argument that escalated into a shooting, Phoenix police said.
The shooting happened around 1 p.m. near 10th Street and Buckeye Road. Thompson was pronounced dead at a local hospital, police said. The shooter left the scene before police arrived, according to a news release from Phoenix police.
