Love dogs? Do you have dog handling experience? Do you have a dog? We are Luratics!, an all-breed lure coursing club (a chase sport like agility but without the hurdles). We need 2-3 part time people to help with set-up, breakdown, and field support. Our season runs from March through September/October. We currently have two events scheduled - this Saturday, August 28, and another on September 25 - and will have more next spring and summer. We may have one or more smaller events before the end of this year. Our events are always on Saturdays; the hours are 7:15 to about 4:30. These positions are outdoors, involve physical work with the equipment and with handling crazy canines. The events are fun, there are no aggressive dogs allowed, and everyone has a good time. We are looking for people with any kind of dog-handling experience who are also good with people. You must be physically able to lift 40-50 pounds; good people skills are a must, as well as the ability to take initiative and work independently. These are paid positions plus if you own dog(s) you can bring them along and we'll run them for free. You're not going to make a ton of money but you'll gain dog and event experience and you'll have a great time. This is the perfect part-time job for vet techs or VT students, pet-sitters, dog trainers, or anyone who just loves to be around dogs. We provide full training on the job.
