General Laborer

Summit Erosion Control is looking for full time erosion control laborers for immediate hire at our Mission Valley and Ramona locations. Summit has been in business for 16 years and is recognized as a leader in the industry. We are looking for team members for long term employment to continue growing the company. There are opportunities for overtime work, prevailing wage work and advancement for the right individuals. Work will include making and installing gravel bags, installing silt fence, straw wattle and other BMP's, weed abatement, operating water discharge pumps/generators/and other small engines, general erosion labor, etc. Erosion control or landscape experience is helpful but not required. Must have reliable transportation. A valid driver's license is preferred, but not required. English speaking is a plus, but not required. Bi-lingual with English and Spanish is also a plus, but not required. Job Requirements: A desire to work a full-time job while developing your skills in the construction industry • Committed to safety and possess the ability to recognize potential hazards, thereby avoiding incidents. • Regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time. May also be required to walk for long periods of time while completing other duties and responsibilities. • Must have a full range of body movements. The ability to bend the body, to reach for objects, and to crouch when needed are also required. • Frequently required to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds, use a pick, shovel and sledge hammer • Work will be primarily outdoors in a construction environment where you may encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures.
