PRIMARY RESPONSBILITY: This position will report directly to the Quality Manager/Quality Engineer and work together with the quality team to follow procedures and work instructions to achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety assuring internal and external customer satisfaction. The quality technician will also perform developmental work for research projects, improvement initiatives, and maintain and develop overall quality. This position will also maintain physical testing equipment in the lab and production floor to provide technical support and guidance on projects regarding lab testing and analysis to assist in overall evaluations of products, processes, and potential raw material. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. •Follow all Safety Guidelines & Procedures (i.e. LOTO, Guarding). •Perform physical testing of raw material, production, development trials, and composites. •Perform hourly production line inspections and record results. •Prepare Master Control Samples. •Assist with Certificate of Conformance reports. •Assist with PPAP testing. •Inspect and recommend disposition of Nonconforming or suspect material. •Work closely with line personnel to ensure quality is understood throughout the production process. •Provide administrative support for the Quality Department. •Follow and interpret policies and procedures. •Work with customer service and other departments as needed. •Ensure calibrations are up to date. •Follow up on corrective action or action plans. •Document and data control review. •Actively participate in 6S Process and maintain housekeeping during the shift. •Assist production personnel with tasks supporting the production line. •Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). • Nonwovens experience is a plus, but not required. • Ability to operate testing equipment and performing lab testing. • Basic computer and math skills. • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work on a team as well as independently. • Ability to work in hot/cold manufacturing environment, which can include standing and/or sitting for duration of task. • Ability to transport or move up to 50lbs. of material. • Ability to understand and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos. • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and/or other employees. • Ability to work 12 hour shifts and every other weekend when business demands warrant a 24-7 continuous operation.
