Job description Job Title: Kennel Attendant / Receptionist Job Type: Part-time Hours: up to 39 hours per week, schedule varies. Pay Rate: Hourly, Dependent on Qualifications Job Summary: Provides care to our Boarding, Daycare, and Grooming Clients. Provides care for the rescue animals. (Mayte's Rescue) Must treat animals with kindness and respect and seeks to socialize with them in order to make them adoptable. Maintains a clean and sanitary environment for the rescue animals. Specific Job Duties: Clean, safely sanitize and maintain kennels and animal living areas on a daily basis. Clean other rescue areas such as supply room, hall ways kitchen. Sweep, take out trash Clean and maintain shelter equipment such as carriers, leashes, towels beds, etc. Wash food and water bowls daily and store them in an orderly fashion. Provide each animal with food and water while following approved and trained feeding protocols. Help as needed with the check-in of new animals. Follow proper check-in procedures. Follow proper safety measures and procedures when using chemicals and cleaning supplies. Assist other employees, clients and volunteers in a cheerful and respectful manner as a representative of Mayte’s Rescue. Assist with washing, drying and folding of laundry. Assist with maintaining a clean and organized supply room. Inform Kennel Supervisor of any health issues observed with the animals. Responsible for any and all other duties assigned by the lead Team Member Skills/Qualifications Some type of work history with dogs is required such as working in a pet store, groomer, dog daycare, or Veterinary Office. Must enjoy working with dogs and cats. Able to read, write, understand and follow oral and written instructions. Able to humanely handle animals under various circumstances. Able to work harmoniously as a team with other employees. Able to stand for long periods of time. Able to lift and carry 40lbs bags and boxes. Able to bend and squat regularly Able to handle large animals (up to 100 lbs. dog) Job Type: Part-time Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour COVID-19 considerations: We provide gloves, masks, hand sanitizer, and face shields. Face shields are optional. We follow all State/County CDC guidelines.
