Boss Br-864 file transfer puzzle?

I have an older BR-864 recorder I use to record my original songs. I am having trouble transferring my completed audio file from the recorder to my computer using a standard USB connection. I have searched and followed the manual to no avail. Does anyone have an experience with this and a possible solution to what is probably a simple thing I may have overlooked.
