Sadly must re-home my gorgeous black and tan, female German Shepherd, Zelda. I adopted her about 6 months ago and have since de-wormed her, gotten her up to date on her shots, given her a much needed bath, and gotten her used to living in a home (she was a backyard dog). Previous owner was not upfront about her extremely protective nature, and it's been difficult as I have 3 boys and a very social household. She's fantastic with the boys, but hyper defensive with anyone outside of our "pack." This has been hard as we often have friends over and she really dislikes this. This only occurs in the home - she's good with people outside of her own territory.
So, the positive is that she's a healthy 3 1/2 -4 yr old fixed GSD, up to date on shots/deworming and is a fantastic protection dog. She would also be amazing at search and rescue as she's highly attentive and easy to train. The negative is also that she's so protective. However, if that's what you're looking for, she'd be ideal.
FYI, she has never attacked or bitten anyone or any other animal - but she will bark like crazy at them.
Asking for a small re-homing fee. Will include all her supplies (leash, collar, choke chain, nail clippers, brush and large metal crate - all this alone was over $200, not to mention the multiple vet fees that I've incurred to get her up to speed and healthy)
