Associates Insectary has immediate openings for full-time rearing workers at its Santa Paula facility. College interns and graduates are well suited for this position and find work at Associates rewarding and well suited to their education. Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education and work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform key responsibilities of this position. Associates Insectary is looking for applicants who are interested in helping to raise and collect large numbers of insects in a commercial insectary setting. The duties related to growing millions of beneficial insects varies widely each day. Applicants with practical experience working in animal husbandry settings, or at a production nursery or commercial greenhouse will have many of the skills required for this job. Applicants will be expected to learn to work with our insects and plants so that they thrive and reproduce well. Educational coursework in life science-based classes will be helpful to understanding the rearing cycles of the various species grown here. Applicants should be dependable, detail oriented and comfortable working in typical greenhouse and insectary work environments. All equipment required is employer provided. Work is 40 hours a week with some over-time and occasional weekend work. This position offers competitive pay and very generous medical and retirement benefits. All applicants must possess a valid CA Driver’s License and be insurable. Applicants must also provide proof of COVID vaccination.
