ESA cat for Veteran

I am looking for a cat that I may have as an Emotional Support Animal (ESA). My doctor of 3+years has given me a certified letter to obtain an ESA. I live alone and am housebound a lot and would be able to give proper care and attention to a furry family member. A cat that: does not like children, or other cats, is fine by me. An adult cat is preferred. Would like a cat that would at times be ok as being a lap cat, or likes being near me.
