Overview: The Facilities Manager is responsible for keeping the building and facilities orderly, clean, and safe, with all related systems and equipment operating effectively. Duties: The following is illustrative, but not exhaustive of the scope of responsibilities of the Facilities Manager: 1. Manages and performs work related to the maintenance of school facilities, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and custodial. 2. Maintains equipment performs repairs as needed. Maintains accurate records of all maintenance and repairs. 3. Develops and manages a system to identify and prioritize areas of need for the facilities. Provides a weekly status update on deficiencies, priorities, and any pending and completed projects to the business manager. 4. Oversees custodial needs of the school. Works with outside custodial contractor to correct custodial deficiencies. Provides custodial services as needed. 5. Assists in event coordination as requested. Ensures proper scheduling of set up and take down for meetings and events, as directed. 6. Makes sure facilities meet building code requirements. 7. Supervises contractors and vendors as they relate to maintenance. Ensures work is done according to contracts and bids. 8. Implements procedures for handling, storing, safekeeping, and destruction of hazardous materials. Maintains school Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system. 9. Works with business manager to manage and ensure compliance with annual facilities budget. 10. Inspects school properties for areas of concern on a daily basis. Immediately corrects and makes arrangements for correcting areas with safety concerns. 11. Participates in faculty and staff religious formation as required for all staff. 12. Develops and manages a plan for the annual interior summer cleaning. Updates the business manager weekly on progress of the summer cleaning. 13. Orders custodial and maintenance supplies as necessary. 14. Ensures participation in diocesan meetings and preventive maintenance programs. 15. At the business manager’s request, facilitates the bid process for purchases for contracts related to facilities. Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED. • Minimum of four years of experience in facilities and grounds maintenance, including working with HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. • Skilled in HVAC systems, electrical, painting, plumbing, carpentry, and other facilities maintenance related work. • Working knowledge of, and skilled in use of, basic hand and power tools. • Ability to read, follow instructions and communicate well in English. • Satisfactory criminal background check. • Must possess a valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications: • Skilled in the use of the computer, including email, the internet, and word processing and spreadsheet software. Salary Range: • Expected pay range is $18 – $25 per hour.
