River Region Human Services will have FREE Narcan training, vaccinations and refreshments. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released that there were at least 94,134 overdose deaths between January 2020 and January 2021 which is a 31% increase compared to the previous year. River Region Human Services has partnered with Drug Free Duval and All Well Pharmacy to provide free Narcan training, vaccinations and refreshments. You will learn from the 50 minute Narcan training the signs of an overdose and how to administrate Narcan properly. Your training could save someone's spouse, daughter, best friend, coworker or even a complete stranger. (RRHS). was established in 1972 as a private, non-profit 501-(c)-3 corporation, to provide a comprehensive array of substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment services for persons residing in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. John's Counties. RRHS has been licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services since incorporation, is registered with the Secretary of State and the City of Jacksonville as a charitable organization. River Region Human Services provides services beginning pre-conception and continuing throughout childhood, adolescence, and adult hood, including specialized services for the elderly. For mothers in need, that have just delivered their babies, we provide safe housing where they receive counseling and services to help them successfully transition back into the community. We provide extensive prevention services for youth, including trained counselors within the Duval County School system, camps, and peer support services. Counseling services for at-risk adolescents are provided at community schools as well as River Region locations. HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, counseling and referral services are provided throughout the community. Substance Abuse, Mental Health and Co-Ocurring Services include outpatient, residential, day/night, medication, case management and continuing care services. Other services include supportive and transitional housing, an employee assistance program, corrections and court service programs, parenting and anger management classes and DUI offender programs.
