Kids will learn clay hand-building techniques and bring a creature from their imagination to reality in this hands-on workshop. In the spirit of the astounding ceramic creatures featured in El Zodíaco Familiar, we invite kids to discover how to bring this amazing material to life. In this kid-friendly workshop, ceramic artist and owner of Good Earth Pottery Ann Marie Cooper will introduce clay hand-building techniques. After getting a feel for the material, students will have the opportunity to bring a creature from their imagination into reality. Designed as an introductory-level workshop for children ages 7 – 12. Registration is limited to 12 students. Instructors and all participants will be required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. The Museum will be following Covid safety protocols. The Whatcom Museum is the City of Bellingham's local art and history museum. The Museum is a non-profit organization operated jointly by the Whatcom Museum Foundation and the City of Bellingham, and provides innovative and interactive educational programs and exhibitions about art, nature, and Northwest history.
