Jobs
2277 Kohne Rd, Dryden NY
Description
Searching for six volunteers to execute a controversial, outdoor, site-specific, guerrilla art installation on a public park and film it for early September as an experimental documentary about bridging the deep divide of America’s cultural fragmentation and hyper political-polarization through a new grand unifying contemporary creation story called “The Metanarrative From The 95 Metamemes Of Metamodernism,” by Zevin X. Cruz and exhibited as “THE MONOLITHIC MILESTONES PROJECT II, 2021” in the form of a 16-foot, black, “Megalith” sitting on top a 2ft x 4ft x 8ft platform and accompanied with four black “Miniliths” all made from lite-weight, home, insulation foam boards (see 4th sketch & 5th diorama photo). Deadline to apply is September 11, 2021. The following article excerpt below of “The Monolithic Milestones Project I, 2011,” (see 1st, 2nd & 3rd photos) offers some idea of the size and scope and what to expect…. THE ELBERTON STAR ELBERTON, GA—“An organization known as The Integral Neo-Transcendentalists [3rd Wave Metamodernists] for the Society of the Third Millennium (S3K) sent an email to ‘The Elberton Star’ [news], claiming credit for this ‘artwork,’ at the Georgia Guidestones. Elbert County Sheriff Barry Haston said there is a complete video of the group that performed the ‘renovation’ at the site in the pre-dawn hours on May 8. The Elberton Star received the email claiming credit for the project early Sunday morning….” “…Sunday morning I [the publisher of a Georgia newspaper] was scanning through the STAR [news messages] when I came across an email with this subject line… ‘The Georgia Guidestones Has Been Guerrilla Art With Black Fabric.’ “The return email address said [it] was from ‘Zoren X. Cross,’ which may sound unusual to you. I’ve learned that nothing is unusual in the realm of The Guidestones. “The email is far too long to reprint here… [but] Black fabric? Zoren X. Cross? S3K? Guerrilla art? Corporatocracy? I stopped reading, forwarded the email to the sheriff’s office and forgot about it. “Then Monday morning I called the sheriff about another matter and he was raving about the ‘guerrilla art project’ at the Guidestones. “What? “Between 4 and 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, Zoren’s Army, composed of about four or five people armed with ladders and fake satellite dishes, climbed all over The Guidestones and retro-fitted the entire monument with a black fabric ‘slipcovers’ that, I suppose, espouses the beliefs of The Society of the Third Millennium (S3K).The picture of the ‘guerrilla art’ outfit, wind-blown and all, is on the front page this week. “According to the sheriff’s investigators, this organization built an exact replica of The Guidestones somewhere else, made these ‘slipcovers’ to perfectly fit our famous landmark, then came here and within 90 minutes or so gave our monument a new look. “Sheriff Barry Haston and Emergency Services Director Chuck Almond both told me Monday that they have video from the Guidestones surveillance camera showing the S3K folks diligently decorating. “The stunt falls into the category of ‘no harm, no foul.’ Unlike the vandals that spray paint the stones, these folks caused no headaches and no permanent damage to the stones….” —Gary Jones, Elberton Star, May 8, 2011
