Description

"To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without Passion is inexcusable." --Some guy named Beethoven Top shelf team forming with vision and mission. We have a standing offer for a residency at a great bar with great food (incorporating NOLA cuisine into a NOLA themed show) and several other quality opportunities. For those hesitant to jump in to a start up act, our first matter of business is to record audio and video in a very special and historic venue. Maybe you take the gig and give this a feel to see if it's worthing dedicating to. Really hot 1960s NOLA Soul covers and a handful of very strong Retro Soul Originals. Band vision is keyboards and horns driven, no guitar. Super hot rhythm section and female Soul Harmony Singers. Ultimately this is shooting for big shows. Shades on stage, dressing for the part without overdressing, mixing some NOLA Style covers of unexpected rock songs in with lots of horns... We are looking for passionate, Heart And Soul Musicians that want to be a part of a "sonic service" to everybody who stumbles into one of our shows and all of those who come back for more to feel the energies we are laying down. Not just some high end corporate "entertainment" gig and not just another decent act in the corner of the bar... The covers we are looking at are really special and with top notch players this will really be something to get behind and be a part of. The Lead Singer/Songwriter and band founder has a lot of very solid material written and some partially written and is looking for a keyboardist to be Musical Director and collaborator in developing the sound and direction of the Original material. Singer can be heard on Sou nd Cl oud under the name Jeff Ray James. (No NOLA Soul covers yet... Nobody is quite doing this stuff...) The Singer is a belter with a Soul scream ala Lee Moses, James Carr, Peter Wolf, with strong early Gin-Joint Ray Charles influences as well as Dr John's Gumbo album and can sing in that Junko Partner gritty, low end style. Some of the must-do songs are Tak Majal's Cakewalk Into Town, James Carr's Love Attack, Ray Charles' Losing Hand, Dr John's Huey "Piano" Smith Medley, Curley Moore's Way Down Low... Etc... Smoky, sexy, spiritual even, with dedicated, no drama/ego servants of the Music and The Audience above all else, at a time when The People need a magical Saturday night or Sunday Fun-day more than ever... This is a Blues Brothers level "Mission Frahm Gahd..." Who's down? Please send some recordings and social media links and whatever you got with responses. *PEACE*
