The Intersection of Everything: Building an Anti-Fragile Austin, a Conversation with Charles Marohn
Big infrastructure projects with big price tags have been driving communities across North America into decline for decades—and Austin is no exception. From highways to housing, our all-at-once approach to development has saddled future generations with permanent maintenance responsibilities, ever-growing debt liabilities, and reduced opportunity. Those who shape up-and-coming cities have a chance to try a better way.
CNU-CTX is pleased to host Charles Marohn, engineer, author, and founder of the Strong Towns movement, to speak about strategies for incremental, fiscally sustainable development that will build financial resilience and prosperity that Austinites can share in for years to come.
The event will take place in the Demonstration Area of the Austin Central Public Library. Capacity is limited and we will be observing spacing and other City of Austin guidelines for Covid.
CNU-CTX is dedicated to creating places people love in Central Texas. We bring together experts, leaders, and citizens to guide our region toward creating more livable and prosperous communities. Our work is guided by the Charter for the New Urbanism and our mission is to affect change through education and advocacy based on the Charter.
