Please join us for a private screening of the recently released documentary feature "Woman in Motion". Discussion and local wine to follow
This is the amazing story of how Nichelle Nichols (Lt. Uhura of the original Star Trek cast), changed the face of NASA by building interest and recruiting black Americans, women, and girls. Nichols formed the company Women in Motion, Inc. and recruited more than 8,000 African American, Asian and Latino women and men for the agency.
Woman in Motion is available on demand and digital and is streaming on Paramount+. It has been uploaded to the International Space Station for the astronauts to watch at their leisure and will be screened for thousands of NASA contractors and employees. It will be released theatrically in 2021.
Following the film, please join us and the Producers at a wine and cheese reception to discuss how the film and its stories could be a basis for creating new STEAM learning content.
Pale Blue Dot Ventures (PBDV) has the exclusive exhibit license rights for “Woman in Motion”.
Movie starts at 5pm. We are specifically targeting Central Coast School District Leadership, Adminstrators and Teachers for this event, and others with a passionate interest in STEAM education and space.
