Seeking Bassist and Drummer
Meets
27th Street near Old Cheney, Lincoln NE
Description
I am building a band. My goal is to ultimately play all originals. I have created, and am creating more, music. What I need is a dependable bassist and drummer who are up for the challenge. I invest my time, energy, and resources into creating music and being prepared. I need musicians who practice at home and are prepared when we play together. My vision is to start with a mix of originals and covers. As the number of originals we perform increase, the covers will drop off. I am working at creating music that will appeal to people who enjoy Breaking Benjamin, Theory of a Deadman, Nickelback, and Seether to name a few. I'm not out there to create music that fits my artistic desires that is obsolete and obscure. I want to create music that makes people want to dance and play it on repeat. What I want to avoid is playing music that crosses many eras and genres. I feel bands with so much diversity struggle to appeal to a dedicated audience. I plan to have a specific sound that appeals to an audience that will be ours. Though I see a band as a brotherhood and ideally friendship, I treat this as a professional endeavor. It's absolutely a hobby but I feel that to be successful, and have the most fun by playing some awesome venues, we need to manage it well. An ideal bassist would be skilled at listening to a song and playing the part as it is played. I, unfortunately, have come across many players who make up their own part or something close but not the part as it was written. I'd like to meet someone who has stage presence and enjoys performing as I do. An ideal drummer would also be skilled at listening to a song and playing the part as it is played, has stage presence, and enjoys performing. If you want an idea of the kind of music I'd like to play, try out Everlong by Foo Fighters. I understand that COVID is still a major concern and I hope this concern will not deter anyone from contacting me. How we handle this issue will need to be something we discuss as a group to determine how we will handle it. We'll also have some time where we are getting together our set lists, learning songs, and putting our show together before we need to decide how we want to approach it. The safety of the band members and our families comes first. If this sounds like something you'd like to get involved with, please send me an email. I'm looking forward to talking with you.
