Description

Join Jewish Family & Community Services as we celebrate 105 years of service at Generations in Aviation at Craig Airport Jacksonville! Jewish Family & Community Services (JFCS) is a 104-year old agency that services the entire community. Our Annual Event serves as our biggest fundraiser of the year, raising over $300,000 to ensure the services we provide throughout the year can continue – even in a crisis situation. Some of the services JFCS provides include, but are not limited to: *Foster Care: 3,225 children received case management services to ensure their safety, well-being and safe reunification with their family * Prevention: Through our STEPS, FAST and High Risk Newborn programs, 2,400 children were provided voluntary in-home parenting, behavior modification, budgeting and referrals to avoid their children's entry into foster care. *Adoption: 124 children were placed in new forever families in 2020. *Therapy: 1,800 children, teens and adults received individual, family and/or couples outpatient counseling. 65 individuals received psychiatric evaluations and 300 individuals received medication management services. * Full Service Schools: 425 children in the local Arlington Full Service School feeder pattern participated in individual, family and group therapy to strengthen family functioning. This program exists and continues because of the mass school shooting that happened at Parkland. It provides children who are at-risk with counseling services, because every child should have access to therapy. *1,360 children who participate in our Achievers for Life program received family advocacy services to help them successfully transition into the next grade. *11,200 individuals were assisted when financial difficulties arose during the COVID-19 pandemic. This program included access to our Max Block Food Pantry (7,500 clients) and Fanny Landwirth Clothes Closet (921 clients), as well as assistance with rent and utilities (2,668 clients). *2,869 individuals were served through our Jewish Services program, including 104 1st Generation Holocaust Survivors. The Destination: Transformation event paves the way for JFCS to continue to accomplish our mission to "Help People Help Themselves". The dollars we raise through this initiative help fund our life-changing programs throughout the year.
