If you opened this up, thanks. You're good, or old, or hopefully both, so please read on. Here's the plan: an established & experienced band has refined its focus and wants to play primarily Blues. Personnel: singing Blues Harp (retired), singing Blues Drummer (semi-retired), singing Blues bass (works F/T) And YOU, a skilled (hopefully gig experienced) blues guitarist that can play rhythm and lead guitar in a stripped down 4 piece band. (We all sing, so you don't need to. Any vocal support is a bonus.) The three of us are blues guys in temperament. We don't play strictly blues songs, but we play everything in a blues style. Generally, this really means that we play with a quieter volume and softer attitude. It suits us. And, frankly, it suits most of the smaller venues (where we like to play.) We also thrive on fairness. Everyone should have ownership of a fair share of the set list and/or lead vocals. We will each help plan the set list to facilitate keeping everyone involved and happy. We like playing out. We like getting paid. But you can't pay us enough to play if it isn't fun. If it is a fun venue for folks that appreciate good live blues, then any $$ is just a bonus. (We also play some private events.) We like day gigs (no more 9-midnight!), outside if possible (no more dark holes that smell of stale beer or worse), and casual (we don't wear ties except at weddings and funerals). We want to play some good blues music and have some fun doing it. If it ain't fun, it ain't happening! (Note: Our objective is to secure one regular monthly weekend gig that pays well enough so that we can afford to play some less lucrative local gigs just because they are fun.) We are looking for a very specific guy: OLD (shall we suggest 50+ but we won't exclude you if you're only a whippersnapper) TALENTED (see above) AVAILABLE (one weekday evening or weekend day per week for practice OR gig) LOVES THE BLUES (again, see above) VAXED--we're all old guys and need to be careful. Unvaccinated? Sorry, it's a deal breaker. If this is you, please reply and let's get together. When you reply, send any recording of you playing---does not need to be quality. Even a phone recording will do. It could bump you up in the Audition schedule. NOTE: We have guitarists scheduled to audition through September 1st, but we have not selected anyone yet, so I am leaving the post up. I will keep all candidates informed about our progress.
