WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow was elected Sunday the new chairman of the county's Republican Party. Farrow previously served in both the state Assembly and Senate. Farrow replaces Andrew Hitt, who stepped down after two years. Hitt will continue to serve on the executive committee. In his new role, Farrow will oversee party strategy and fundraising efforts ahead of the 2022 election cycle. Farrow posted on social media regarding his new role. "Today I was given an important responsibility and an incredible privilege by being elected the state chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. I appreciate the support I have received from many people across the state. "If you know me, you know I've been active in politics for decades and I've held public office for the last 10 years. I stepped into the political ring to serve, to make things better for the constituents I represented in different offices. That's what my primary goal will be as state chairman. We have a challenge ahead of us that I know we can accomplish together. "Throughout my time as Waukesha County Executive I have served in a number of volunteer roles in the Republican Party at both the county and state level. Like my previous positions, my recent selection as Chairman of the state party is purely voluntary. It will not affect my ability to objectively perform the duties of the Office of the County Executive. "Since my first election as County Executive, I have worked hard to keep our county tax levy low, support public safety, including our Sheriff's Department, courts system, 9-1-1 dispatch services, and improve our county infrastructure. Over this past year I have worked with groups throughout the county to provide an effective response to the COVID pandemic. The county never issued a mandate, or order. "We worked to educate and inform the public so they can make responsible decisions. I will continue to support our county in this way and will keep working hard to serve the people of Waukesha County."
