Rings on wood as psychedelic

Has anyone ever stopped or seen rings on wood and /or how they are bent and how their fluid flows and gets to be so dark as it does as psychedelic in its own way? They create their own paintings. Or wood prints (duh) but something even deeper. Has any artist ever gotten after this? I'd say there's room for animation in it too that could be Summer of Love psychedelic in the truest sense in 2021.
