A car tour through the beautiful highlands of New Jersey, including several historic bridges. The New Jersey Highlands Coalition Car Trek is a friendly and fun described route over and under 6 historic bridges through the Highlands. No experience needed! All instructions are provided and the car trek is intended for novice drivers and more experienced drivers alike. This event is organized and sanctioned by the Raritan Valley Sports Car Club Inc. We will start registration at 10:00am at Valley Shepherd Creamery in Long Valley, where you can try some delicious, award-winning cheese made on their farm before you hit the road.* The driver and navigator will receive directions, along with descriptions and historical tidbits for your self-guided tour. We will finish the trip at Four Sisters Winery, where you can enjoy a delicious glass of vino and a bite to eat.* There will be a photo contest with a prize; a free ticket to a Barefoot Grape Stomping from Four Sisters Winery! Suggested Donation of $10/person. Your purchase supports protecting the beautiful Highlands of New Jersey. Rules for participation: The driver must be licensed to drive the vehicle. Both proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license must be presented during rally registration. The navigator must be at least 9 years old. The navigator must have a writing board (clipboard). Children age 9 or under can ride in the vehicle during the event. All individuals in the vehicle must wear seat belts at all times. The vehicle must have a current registration, and be legal to drive on public roads in New Jersey and New York State. A set of General Instructions (GIs) and Route Instructions (RIs) will be distributed after registration and prior to the start of the car trek. The Car Trek Master and Volunteers will be available during registration and will be happy to answer questions and give advice. The Route Instructions will provide teams with detailed information on the route of the car trek. There will be Items of Interest along the route. Descriptions of the Items of Interest will be included in the instructions.
