FREEPORT, NY — With the overwhelming majority of COVID-19 hospitalizations from people who are not vaccinated, the Town of Hempstead has scheduled another week of its "Vaxmobile" for residents. On Tuesday, the mobile unit will appear at Freeport High School from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The town's Vaxmobile is run with the cooperation of Mount Sinai South Nassau. Walk-ups are permitted, but appointments are encouraged. You can schedule in advance by calling the Mount Sinai South Nassau's Department of Community Education at 516-377-5333 or the Town of Hempstead at 516-812-3678. Appointments can also be made online.
