Brookline To Require Face Masks Indoors In All Public Settings

BROOKLINE, MA — The Town of Brookline will require face coverings in all indoor public spaces beginning Friday, August 27 at 8 a.m, said Health Commissioner Dr. Swannie Jett in a news release. The mask mandate applies to every individual over the age of two regardless of vaccination status and includes businesses, restaurants, clubs, places of assembly, municipal buildings, and any other publicly accessible indoor space. Restaurant customers will be required to wear face coverings at all times except when actively eating or drinking. Those who cannot wear face coverings due to a medical condition should wear plastic face shields. Employees at Brookline businesses will be required to wear face coverings and gloves while providing service to customers.
