Description

This workshop is a way for you to honor your ancestors or loved ones by creating a picture frame using flowers grown at Griffin Gardens. "Flowers for Mama" is an entire experience! Set in the idyllic neighborhood garden, Griffin gardens located on the northwest side of Detroit, this workshop will give you a wonderful opportunity to design your very own special flower frame that pays homage to a loved one. Whether it be honoring an ancestor that have passed on or simply retouching a loved one's photo, this workshop will allow you to use your own creativity in order to style a frame using all of the beautiful flowers grown at the Griffin Gardens. Once you arrive you will be transported to a lovely garden oasis of over 100 native and non-native plants set right in the city of Detroit. As you walk around with a glass of wine or cup of tea with the soothing sounds of classical, jazz, and lo-fi music you will surely get inspiration for your special frame design! Next you can decide to set up at a table or on the lawn while you create your magic! All that you need to bring is yourself and a photo that will fit inside of an 8 x 10 frame, blanket and pillows (optional) if you choose to work on the grass versus the tables. All other materials will be provided. Feel free to dress up in your best flower garden attire as there will be a flower styled photo setup available for you! Wine, tea, and refreshments will be served. This is an event you will not want to miss :)
