The project covered by this grant will acquire new cameras to replace cameras that are either no longer serviceable or failing due to reaching the end of their service-life. Since the inception of the program, the body-worn cameras have been used to document police interactions with the public, secure statements from victims, witnesses and suspects for prosecution and evidence documentation, and for police officer accountability. Goals and Objectives Obtain Justice Assistance Grant funding to cover the cost of Stratford Police Department acquiring 13 body-worn cameras to be worn by police officers during the performance of their duties. Acquire the body-worn cameras, train all members of Stratford Police Department on the proper and effective use of the body-worn cameras, and implement the usage of the new cameras.
