SILVER SPRING, MD — A 62-year-old caregiver at a Silver Spring group home died after a resident attacked him, Montgomery County Police said Sunday.
Resident Edward Opeoluwa David, 27, has been charged with second-degree murder. Police identified the caregiver as Fokam Henry Sigala.
Police responded to a call to the group home — a Carona Court home for men who require living assistance — on Saturday around 7:30 p.m. and found Sigala on the floor. He was pronounced dead at the group home, police said.
David is accused of assaulting Sigala, leading to Sigala's death, police said. David is awaiting a bond hearing.
Police said this is an active investigation and they can not release any more information yet.
