Description
ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville Village Board approved a special use permit for Victory Chapel at its Wednesday board meeting. The church is looking to purchase property at 3 E. Romeo Road, and use the existing building on the site, Community Development Director Josh Potter said during Wednesday's workshop meeting.
Potter said the site was previously used as a church in the 1990s, and most recently used as a daycare.
The building needs to be brought up to code, Potter said. The parking spaces also need to be striped, and an existing playground would be removed.
According to board documents, the church has held services in community spaces in Bolingbrook and Darien, is currently located at 1335 Lakeside Drive in Romeoville, but is seeking a more permanent site.
Potter said the church has between 30 and 35 members, and would meet on Wednesday and Sunday at the properties. There is no associated school with the church.
The board unanimously approved the special use permit for the church.
