Giving Back to Lemont has been a collaborative effort between businesses, musicians, and the community to raise funds and collect food for both of our Lemont Food Pantries, this is the 9th straight year continuing to support our pantries. Giving Back to Lemont will once again offer 4 hours of free music on Saturday August 28th from 4:00-9:00pm on the grassy area next to Next Mex (319 Front St., Lemont). This event has raised more than $20,000 and rallied truck loads of food over the past 8 years. All of this could not be possible without the support of Next Mex; the generosity of the musicians who offer their time, effort, and talents; the donations of the many raffle items from the Lemont businesses; and the support of the volunteers who make it all happen! Some of the music that will be featured will be: Abbey & Calista Chaidez; Ralph Johnson; Split Decision; Reverend Dogman and the Heard; Run Razor. Bring your chairs, blankets, coolers, and get ready to camp out for 5 hours of free music and fun! Come ready to purchase 50/50 Raffle tickets (6/$5) that will also enter you into the prize raffle!!! You will also be able to drop off food donations and monetary donations, or make donations through the Hope and Friendship Foundation website credit card or PayPal- www.hopeandfriendshipfoundation.com (or use QR code) that will all be equally divided between both of our Lemont Food Pantries. All donations received to the Hope and Friendship website/PayPal on Saturday August 28th and Sunday August 29th will be donated to the Lemont Food Pantries. Some of the gold items requested by our pantries are: personal care items; paper products; coffee; granola bars; laundry detergent; peanut butter & jelly; canned meats. Or just offer any monetary donation you can at the event or through the Hope and Friendship website and allow our pantries to purchase fresh food cards to assist those in need in our Lemont community.
