Authorities ID Round Lake Man Killed In I-355 Crash

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — A 39-year-old Round Lake man who died following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 355 in Addison early Sunday has been identified as Kirk T. Kralovetz, authorities said Monday afternoon. The collision happened when a white Volvo truck tractor semi-trailer was driving north on Interstate 355 near North Avenue — at milepost 27.75 —at a high rate of speed at about 4:20 a.m. and ran into the back of a northbound black Toyota Camry, according to a news release from the Illinois State Police. The Toyota struck the median wall on the left shoulder of I-355. Kralovetz was driving the car at the time of the crash and was ejected from the Toyota, authorities said. He was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the truck, Hussein Muthanna, 37, of Chicago, was taken to an area hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Muthanna has been cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
