Be prepared for a season of spectacular music-making when the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Music Director and Conductor Stephen Alltop, opens its 2021-22 season of exhilarating musical adventures on Saturday, September 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church. To begin this year-long celebration of the sixty seasons the ESO has been bringing exceptional orchestral performances to its audiences in the western suburbs and beyond, "Music From the Movies and More" will delight you with selections from Star Wars Suite by John Williams, West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein and Lerner and Loewe's My Fair Lady along with other musical theater favorites. Also featured are Gershwin's Variations on I Got Rhythm and Sousa's rousing The Stars and Stripes Forever. Join us for this not-to-be-missed event to kick off a season of music that will touch your heart and stir your soul. This concert is underwritten by a generous gift from Ray and Sally Allen. In-person safety measures will be in effect this season. All ESO attendees will be required to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status or age. At this time, our venue requires all in attendance on concert days to sign a release. For more information, please call the ESO office. Save on ticket costs by purchasing a discounted three, four or five-concert 2021-22 season subscription on the website www.elmhurstsymphony.org or by calling the Box Office at 630-941-0202. Subscription prices are $90 to $130 through September 1. Subscriber benefits include savings of up to 30% over single ticket prices; free ticket exchanges for other series concerts; savings on additional single ticket purchases ($28 a ticket); invitations to special gatherings; and personalized customer service. Single tickets for this concert can be purchased after September 1 through midnight September 16; tickets will not be sold at the door. Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church is located at 149 W. Brush Hill Rd. in Elmhurst. The church has accessible parking and facilities; parking is free. The 2021-22 season of the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra is made possible in part by grants from the City of Elmhurst, the Illinois Arts Council (a state agency), the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, and 90.9FM WDCB, Chicago's Home for Jazz.
