DARIEN, IL — A top official in the Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District was arrested last week on a DUI charge in Morris, according to a radio station's news report.
Seth Dale, a battalion chief, was arrested after rear-ending a woman's car about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 16 near Route 6 and Lisbon Road, according to WSPY. A Morris police officer witnessed the incident, the station said. Dale, a Morris resident, was charged with DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating a vehicle with an expired registration.
Darien-Woodridge Fire Chief Steven Gorsky told Patch that Dale is suspended with pay while the district conducts its investigation of the incident. He said he had no other comment.
In a phone interview with Patch, Dale said all the charges were under investigation by the state's attorney.
"The final disposition of the charges will be determined at a later date," he said.
According to Dale's LinkedIn page, he has been with the Darien-Woodridge district for three decades. The page also says he has been a volunteer firefighter with the Morris Fire Protection District. Morris is southwest of the Chicago suburbs in Grundy County.
Patch has filed a public records request for the full report of Dale's arrest.
