Press release from the City Of Davis: August 18, 2021 On Wednesday, Aug. 25, Fifth Street from G to L Streets will be closed at night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for a slurry seal treatment as part of the Sewer Lift Station project. Please watch for detours. Thank you for your understanding as this work is completed. If you need to leave your home or business during these night work hours, it is recommended that you park on an adjacent street or block to avoid delays. The City needs to keep traffic off of the slurry seal for at least four hours to allow it to cure before allowing traffic back on the roads. It is understood that the closures will be inconvenient, but night work will allow the contractor to complete the work all in one day rather than multiple days. The City requests that drivers avoid parking on the street the day after the slurry seal application to allow for adequate street sweeping.
