PHOENIX, AZ — Luis Rivera Urquijo, 46, and Tyrone Thompson, 40, have been identified as the two men shot and killed in separate incidents Saturday in Phoenix. Thompson died Saturday after he was involved in an argument that escalated into a shooting, Phoenix police said. The shooting happened around 1 p.m. near 10th Street and Buckeye Road. Thompson was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said. The shooter left the scene before police arrived, according to a news release from Phoenix police. Urquijo was one of two men police discovered with gunshot wounds at 8:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of 35th Avenue and Dunlap Avenue. Urquijo was pronounced dead on the scene; the other man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, according to a news release from Phoenix police. The second man was still hospitalized as of Monday afternoon, police said.
