Have a few folks involved from a previous post, but need a backup host!! Ever see the movie 'Once'? There's a scene in it where a bunch of people gather around a huge kitchen table, feast, drink, share stories and then sing traditional folk songs; https://youtu.be/LLNhmjtOcC0 I wanna do that!! Food is optional, but drink, music, fun and merriment are mandatory!! I'm looking for fun, down to earth folks who are good musicians (not necessarily great), but someone who can show up ready to play or even share a poem, story or song. I'm leaning toward some guitar players, maybe a fiddle, maybe someone to play the spoons or djembe or whatever combination we can come up with; I'm a drummer of many years and could certainly bring a small (muted) drum kit, djembe and misc percussive toys with me. Let's pick a few songs, either fun traditional folk tunes (anything from 'Once' or the band Great Big Sea fits that bill) or fun tunes from the 60's through today that a single person or a group of folks would have fun singing, either taking turns or everyone all at once. Just looking for a fun gathering of musical folks to share good times and good music...I'm open to ideas as well, so fire away!!
