Serious Inquiries Only! Cement Loader Operator WANTED. Griffin Materials is a division of Griffin Soil Group based in California. We are currently looking for a motivated cement loader operator in our Sparks, Nevada plant. Job Summary: Performs housekeeping duties, routinely inspecting and lubricating machinery, unloads powder cement and lime from trucks into silos and viceversa; operates various types of machinery and assists in operations as needed - all this while exhibiting and championing safe work and environmental compliance practices for their fellow co-workers as well as for the facility and equipment. Duties: Exhibits and maintains safe work and environmental compliance practices while performing the following tasks: Inspects and lubricates plant machinery. Maintains proper operations of plant equipment such as a man-lift, sweeper, SafeRacks, forklift. Perform inspections and local operations of plant equipment including the silos cement and lime storage systems and documents status. Perform cleanup duties in all areas of the facility. Remove remove plugs/build-ups. Assist with plant repairs when needed. Assist in other plant operations as necessary. Other duties as assigned. Education: High School diploma or GED required Requirements/Qualifications: Clean Class C driver's license. Familiarity with computers. Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in the English language. Knowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibility including assembling and disassembling equipment. Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours) Walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground). Climb stairs and ladders as high as 100 feet in elevation. Physical ability to climb on equipment. Must be able to lift and carry 70lbs. up stairs. Must be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required. Must be able to walk long distances, climb ladders, stairs, and stockpiles, stoop, and crawl under and into enclosed spaces. Ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings. Must work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry and/or dusty conditions. Will have exposure to all levels of noise that require use of hearing protection. Exposure to cement and lime. See SDS for more details. Ability to work in surroundings that include heat, dust, vibration, heights and confined spaces. Preferred: Preferred knowledge of all types of equipment used in the manufacturing of cement and lime Conditions of Employment: Successful candidate must submit to pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen and background check.
