Editing Our Genome? A Public Forum on Framing Our Biological Futures Saturday, September 18, 2021 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Arizona Science Center, Phoenix WE NEED YOUR IDEAS! NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! A new generation of tools, often referred to as CRISPR, are making genome editing significantly easier, faster, and cheaper. The practice of altering our DNA has profound implications on our health and well-being as well as our identity, abilities, relationships, and future generations. They involve many scientific, technical, ethical, and social considerations. What are your hopes and concerns? How, when, and who should fund, develop, and use gene editing technologies? How and who should decide? Discuss these and other questions while learning about scientific advances and sharing your values, priorities, and concerns with other members of the local community. SHARE YOUR VOICE! Join a daylong community discussion on our futures with human genome editing. We are looking for individuals with a variety of backgrounds and viewpoints representing the diversity of our community. Those selected will receive a lunch, snacks and a $100 gift card for participation. Masks will be REQUIRED for ALL participants. You must be at least 18 years old to apply. ALL VIEWS ARE WELCOME!
