 Care Taker: For many, their vehicles are extensions of themselves. After homes, vehicles are often one of the most significant purchases a person makes and the emotional attachment to vehicles is significant. They are signs of our personal freedom and often even an outwards symbol we use to create the way in which people view us and who we are. Basically, vehicles are a very important part of people’s lives and something they place great financial and emotional investment in. These people then entrust us with these important parts of their lives. They trust us to drive them on windy mountain roads filled with wildlife in the belief we will take care of their vehicle as we would take care of our own. So as a shuttle driver you are a caretaker of something very precious and you are entrusted with a great responsibility. Hosting: You are operating a vehicle on steep, dangerous roads filled with plenty of other traffic and wildlife. You are certainly responsible for your own safety but also the safety of the vans full of people driving the other direction on the windy mountain roads. You, as a driver, are responsible to ensure the safety of everyone around you while traveling. Shuttle Driver Tasks: Safely move vehicles Use the systems created to ensure the correct cars are moved the correct places and with the keys and all other items handled in alignment with the wishes of the owner. Move vehicles from the river to OTT HQ and park them in both a safe and organized fashion. Move vehicles from OTT to the river where they are parked in a safe, organized, and legal way. Ensure vehicles are left in the same condition they are found. Hospitality Engage with shuttle clients at the put-in and takeout in a way which adds to their excitement about their experience on the Rogue River and affirms their comfort and confidence in their shuttle decision. Engage with any OTT clients riding in the vans during shuttles in a way which positively adds to their experience with the company and shows our wonderful Southern Oregon hospitality. Skills: Creative problem solving - When operating in the field, be able to look at a situation and create a workable solution. 
Communication Clearly be able to communicate with other drivers - Clearly be able to communicate with clients regarding needed details of their shuttles. Ability to read and understand written instructions and follow the directions regarding shuttle information. Experience: Minimum 2-years driving experience with a valid US Drivers license and a clean driving record. Ability to drive and back trailers preferred, ability to learn required. Ability to drive a manual transmission preferred. Experience driving on USFS backcountry roads preferred. Class C, B, or A commercial drivers license is preferred. Wages and Hours: Wages - Competitive wages based on the task being done. Hours Shuttles are an on-call business. We will call when we have shuttles. We do not guarantee a minimum number of hours per week but good drivers stay busy. Work is seasonal. Other: As this job requires significant amounts of time in vans with our other drivers we are primarily looking for individuals who are fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and all employees are required to wear face masks any time they are in a vehicle with other employees.
