Syzygy Events is looking for Production Carpenters for temporary positions or Independent Contractors. We have multiple large projects in the works and are looking for competent, experienced, and hardworking Carpenters to assist in their creation. The anticipated project timeframe is approximately 3 months. We're a 16-year old boutique event production company and we pride ourselves on being able to give our clients the most innovative and trendiest custom-made designs. This job would be perfect for someone who has developed skills with power tools or has worked in woodworking or fabrication shops. Summary: This position will be responsible for general labor for assisting with the design and build of all Syzygy custom-made products, in both the warehouse and on-site at events. You will also be required to help pack trucks, organize inventory and warehouse items and help with setups and breakdowns on-site at events. Must be elidigible to work in the USA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintaining woodshop safety procedures. Reading and understanding build guides. Construct items under the supervision of Lead Carpenter Operate our CNC machine, when needed, (willing to train, but some experience is needed) Pull, pack, unpack and store products in a proper manner. Assist with deliveries, setups, and breakdowns Must have the following skills: Attention to Detail: Must be able to read and recreate products from drawings using a variety of tools and methods. Manual Dexterity: Carpenters work with their hands, using hand and power tools. Math Skills: Basic math is used daily. Strength: Carpenters will lift heavy lumber, cement, and other objects. Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs repeatedly. Problem-Solving Skills: Not every job is the same, and carpenters need to be able to adjust plans to compensate for any environmental issues that come up. Stamina: Carpenters spend long days on their feet, often outside in all types of weather. Job Type: Full Time, Temporary Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Contract Pay: From $22.00 per hour
