The duties of this position principally involve being a host and a receptionist to our guest
upon arrival and during their stay. However, this general task requires many support
functions that reach into other areas, which are also the responsibility of the Front Desk
Representative, commonly referred to as a Front Desk Clerk. This entails checking-in,
checking-out, making reservations, guest concierge, resolving guest’s complaints, problem
solving, preparing continental breakfast, maintaining breakfast equipment, clerical tasks,
maintaining office equipment, ordering supplies, auditing and checking work for previous
desk clerk shift, filing, audit travel agent commission, being a security watch to keep
general peace, helping housekeeping with light work on occasion, and general housekeeping in the front desk and lobby areas. Some decision-making will be required. Furthermore, email responses to reservation requests,
typing memos and other items as instructed in Word and Excel. There is a detailed list of
daily routine tasks to be completed and initiated by each Front Desk shift as a part of the
shift report and a supplement and accountability for the described functions. There is
generally no heavy lifting (50lbs or more) however, there is on occasion, a moderate
lifting: Paper Box-50lbs and 20lbs, Muffin Box-14lbs, Danish Box- 15lbs, coffee-12lbs,
Cereal Rack – 25lbs, Coffee Container 20lbs, Juice Container-20lbs.
