Fight Back 2021 is a self-defense and wellness workshop highlighting Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Breast Cancer is the most common cancer globally in 2021 & accounts for 12% of new annual cancer cases worldwide. In many minority communities throughout the United States there are major disparities in health care and many other life sustaining resources, making African American women 31% more likely to die from breast cancer.
This workshop will provide skills & knowledge for women to protect themselves in multiple facets. Learning Krav Maga self-defense techniques will provide skills, as well as introduce a new form of physical exercise. Main Squeeze will provide attendees with some brief knowledge about weapons safety and self-defense. Attendee's will also recieve some knowledge about natural herbs, fruits and vegetables that can be incorporated into their diets, promoting healthy lifestyle changes.
It is DETRIMENTAL for Black Women to discover breast cancer in early stages, meaning being aware of signs and symptoms & incorporating healthy lifestyle changes.
