Join us on a tour to learn about the many styles of Whisky produced in every corner of the globe! Whiskey, or Whisky as it is known in many other countries, is widely considered to be one of the most ubiquitous and dynamic spirits in the world. Today it is produced in every corner of the globe, with whiskies hailing from India to Taiwan to Australia winning global awards. In this in-depth course, attendees will learn about the humble beginnings of grain spirits, tasting through a flight of ten unique styles of Whisk(e)y while learning about their place of origin, production methods, flavor profiles, and how the category as a whole has evolved over the last seven centuries. In addition to learning about each spirit, attendees will receive instruction on the fundamentals of tasting in order to understand and appreciate their nuances, their trademark qualities in order to identify each, and what to look for in Whiskies of superior quality. At the end of the course, you’re certain to leave feeling like a certified Master of World Whiskey! In addition to learning about each spirit, attendees will receive instruction on the fundamentals of nosing and tasting spirits. Thus, by understanding and appreciating their trademark qualities, attendees will walk away with the tools they need to identify what makes a Whisk(e)y of superior quality. At the end of the course, you’re certain to leave feeling like a certified Master of Whiskey! Attendees must be 21 years of age. Class promptly begins at 12pm and concludes at 2:30pm. Hors d’oeuvres will be served at the beginning of the course. Guests are encouraged to stick around after the course concludes to enjoy our Sunday Happy Hour service at 3pm! Topics Covered: The history of Whisk(e)y and its evolution throughout the world.The major types and styles of Whisk(e)y, including their place of origin, ingredients, production methods, and the trademark qualities that make each unique.The rules and regulations governing the production of each style of Whisk(e)y.Step-by-step instruction on deductive tasting, and how to taste and describe the subtle nuances in the glass.
