Description
The Mental Mile.
A one-mile walk for mental health awareness.
A veteran, a new mother, an athlete, a newly released inmate, a father laid off. Mental illness could affect anyone. It is not a copout to seek help. As people continue to emerge from the rollercoaster of 2020, we have to acknowledge that mental health was affected to various degrees. Psychiatrists are real MDs who specialize in the care of our mental well-being. It is ok to consult one if you need to.
Many people choose to self-diagnose, self-medicate, ignore the warning signs and end up in a mental crisis. This often leads to more difficulties not only for the afflicted but for their loved ones as well. Early treatment and diagnosis by qualified mental health professionals are very important.
Come walk a mile for mental health.
We will gather at the flag pole in front of the Harnett County Courthouse at 8 a.m. and kick off The Mental Mile Walk at 8:30 a.m.
This is a family-friendly event. You are welcomed to bring your well-socialized pets on a leash.
All attendees will recieve a swag bag of valuable resources for mental health help.
Informal Information and Networking Event. Great way to get your feet wet in the industry.
