Join us for an evening of wine tasting and customized wine pairings while helping the Legal Aid and Defender Association raise money to protect the basic rights and liberties of all people in our community! Proceeds from the event will support our “Clean Slate” initiative, helping Detroit area residents who are significantly disadvantaged by criminal records, especially convictions from decades ago. The recent expansion of the expungement eligibility will greatly increase the number of individuals that are eligible to have their records expunged. In the last 4 years, our office provided assistance to over 230 clients seeking expungements; and with your continued support we look forward to helping many more. Legal Aid and Defender Association, Inc. (LAD), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, provides comprehensive civil legal services to residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties who cannot afford an attorney. Founded in 1909, we are proud to be the oldest provider of free civil legal assistance to low-income residents of Michigan. We have a full-time staff of attorneys, paralegals and legal support staff.
