Welcome to PLAYCARE 📚🌳 Our Mission At Playcare, our mission is to provide a safe, clean, fun, and friendly environment for children ages 3 months- 5 years old. We specialize in childcare and education, creating daily lesson plans to help children achieve age related goals! 🌳 📕 Cognitive skills 📘 Motor Skills 📒 Potty training 📙 Social Skills 📗 Creativity 📔 Fundamentals 📓 Basic Childcare Needs About Me 👩‍🏫 My name is Marie, i’m 28 years old. I have 10 years of experience in childcare, with children of all age groups. With 8 years of experience in daycares, summer camps, and art programs and 2 years of experience in Memphis City Schools. Working with children has always been my passion, teaching them, playing with them and caring for them. I am currently in school at a University achieving my Bachelors of Science in Education. Now that I am a parent myself, I can see things from both sides of the fence! BackStory 👩‍👧 I have an 8 month old daughter, whom I had in the midst of this pandemic! Once my maternity leave was over, I was obligated to enroll her into a daycare and just leave her… I felt so overwhelmed and worried to say the least which is normal for any parent - but here I was a first time mother, with a 4 month old at the time, right in the middle of a life-threatening pandemic 😷 I enrolled her in a daycare with the best reputation which was expensive as well, and while managing daycare fees and outside expenses for my child; I still had this constant worry. As the numbers for illnesses (COVID, RSV, Hand Foot & Mouth) grew, the daycare’s amount of children and new employees grew as well. With my child teething and transitioning to solid foods, she was sick constantly which caused them to send her home, which caused me to have to leave work. This was so taxing on me as a new parent. This experience taught me so much about what’s being done, and what NEEDS to be done during a crisis like this! Working with children is the main goal, but in order to do so, you must also work with the parents!! I decided to move to Southern Mississippi area and just start over fresh. While I am currently working in a daycare (in order to be with my child), I’ve noticed sick children coming to school daily, teachers without masks, no real policy set in place for this global crisis that has been in effect for over a year, and also low sanitization standards! I realize they try their best to meet standards, but with a large number of children doing what children do, it’s very difficult to maintain safety standards. My goal is to keep each and every child in the BEST of CARE. : With the numbers rising back up again, Playcare strives diligently to ensure a safe, sanitized, and clean environment for your children to learn and thrive in!
