Church Size: 50-100 Job Type: Part-Time Job Description: FUNCTIONS: Work in conjunction with the Pastor to coordinate and plan services to provide a Spirit-filled worship experience that glorifies God. Willow Grove Baptist Church (WGBC) has a 10:00 am blended service with a mixture of 3 contemporary and/or traditional hymns. We plan to return to two services in the future, one traditional and one contemporary. What is most important, regardless of style, is that God is praised and glorified in all that we do. We seek to create a service of worship that maintains a variety of elements and styles that focuses on giving glory to God and inspiring our church community to full participation. INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS: Willing to pass a background check. The employee must align with Willow Grove Baptist Church theology. COMPENSATION: This is a half-time position. Compensation will be based on qualifications and hours worked. Spiritual Qualifications: Demonstrate a passion for Christ and his Kingdom through personal spiritual growth, discipline, and public ministry. Leads with heartfelt authenticity. Understand, enable, and provide for individuals coming from variety of backgrounds. Demonstrates good interpersonal skills with a variety of people. Someone who is willing and eager to be a part of our church family outside of the worship duties. An ideal candidate (and his/her family) should be a Christian who seeks to be a part of the church and engaged in ministering to the community. The ability to encourage and inspire others to participate and engage in Praise and Worship. Professional Qualifications Experience: At least 1 year or the equivalent of leading a congregation in public worship and demonstrating strong communication skills with a commitment of seeking to develop those skills in that area. Musical skills: Ability to lead worship, show proficiency playing a musical instrument (guitar or piano preferred), performing, training, and directing. Technology Skills: Ability to direct and to integrate technology into worship and music ministry. Currently utilizing Worship Extreme & OBS. Education: At least 1 year of biblical & ministry education at the collegiate level is preferred, though not absolutely necessary. General Duties Work with the Pastor to choose songs and to create a weekly well planned, spirit-filled, Christ honoring, and prayerful worship service. The Worship Leader reports to and works directly with the Pastor. To oversee and coordinate all musical aspects of the worship service. With the Pastor, recruit a team of volunteers to serve in the worship band, choir, and technology team. Lead weekly rehearsals including vocalists, instrumentalists, pianists, and technology team. Identify and arrange repairs or tuning, and purchase of new Instruments and equipment as approved by the Pastor. Oversee and train a team to handle all technical aspects of the worship service including but not limited to: visual media (slides), sound equipment, and lighting requirements. Be open to the possibility of additional opportunities in the future such as leading a worship service during Saturday or Sunday night, teach workshops, youth nights, or retreats.
