In nearly 40 years of voting, I have never claimed a political party. I never liked the idea of being pigeon holed into one group or another. I am an intelligent man who can think for myself each election.
In the past, I have tended to lean more towards republican candidates. The GOP tends to align with my beliefs more than the democrats. But that all changed when the Republicans nominated trump in 2015. I do not trust guys like Trump. Integrity matters to me and Trump seems to have none. Trump p may be a great game show host, but he was not a good leader.
Based on the Republican Party allowing themselves to be taken hostage by Trump, I am not sure if I can ever align with the GOP again. We will see. Much of it depends on who they nominated next election. The last thing this nation needs is more Trump.
