Description
I have had him for a couple months, he is over a year old. He is very beautiful, in good health, energetic and makes a lot of chatter sounds. After a couple weeks he started landing on me, I think because of my first bird. He is skittish, but I think in time he will settle down. I got him to keep my first bird company but he is to agressive to my first bird.
He needs to go to a good home, somebody that knows how to care for birds. I think he would do better as a single bird or in a group, he came from a group. You need to do some research on budgies to understand what the pros and cons are. You have to be careful of drafts, the bird flying out the door, (that's what my first bird did), broke my heart. You also have to be careful with odors, candles, cook wear, cleaning products because these things are harmful or deadly to them.
My birds free fly all day, they are in and out of cage as they want. He needs to go to a home that lets their bird out.
If you aren't letting your bird out, he needs a big cage and a lot of toys, to rotate every couple weeks, to stimulate him. Maybe not quite as big as my cage. I got it for $50.00 on Market Place.
Learn about birds, prepare the cage ahead of time. Natural perches, that are prepared correctly are best for the bird. Talk to him as much as you can. They love noise and music, especially when you are gone. I have my cage next to me all the time. I save millet for just training.
There is a rehoming fee of $25.00 to insure he goes to a good home!
