Enjoy the outdoors while helping us create shade and wildlife habitat along the Nature Boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo!
For 10 years, the Nature Boardwalk has been an urban oasis on the south end of the Lincoln Park Zoo. This prairie-style wetland and boardwalk is a place for city-dwellers to access nature while serving as high-quality habitat for hundreds of plant and animal species.
However, the tree canopy in this unique natural space has suffered heavy losses due to the invasive Emerald Ash Borer. With your help (and support from the US Forest Service and One Tree Planted), we'll be planting and distributing trees of diverse species to replace dead and dying ash trees along the boardwalk, helping to create habitat for wildlife and a shady retreat for generations to come.
We ask that you wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please bring a mask and a (full) water bottle. We will take care of the rest!
We look forward to making a difference in this beautiful space and hope that you will join us!
*Please include a phone number with your registration in case of last-minute schedule changes due to weather!
