Description
An alternate event to honor Pittsburgh media legend Tom Fauls, due to cancellation of the Media Association Awards. We will not be denied. Unfortunately, due to rising Covid cases, the Media Association of Pittsburgh had to cancel the event honoring our colleague and friend Tom Fauls for Outstanding Achievement in Radio. But that doesn't stop us from finding a safe(r) alternative. As a bonus, this alternate event will be more casual and only focus on honoring Tom. We hope you can join us. The event will be hosted by one of Tom's longtime clients and friends, Baja Bar and Grill, in a large room with open windows. If desired, attendees can use the outside deck for the drinks/dinner portion of the event at the beginning and choose whether attend the remarks after in the open-air room. Attendance fee covers cost of the room and a buffet. Buffet includes gourmet pizza, chicken strips and an assortment of meat and cheeses. Cash bar. If you would like to deliver remarks about Tom at the event or provide a video or written comments, please contact the master of ceremonies Chris Kohan at [email protected]. Borrowing from the MAP announcement about Tom: Tom is well steeped in the Pittsburgh media, being the first multi-year winner ofthe MAP "Best Media Salesperson" award. His mission is to develop the kind of relationship where his clients welcome him to sit on the same side of the desk with them, often turning into a trusted advisor and lifelong friend. He believes in giving back to the community and has volunteered with a plethora of charitable organizations across Pittsburgh, including the Magee Foundation’s "Savor Pittsburgh" event, Fundraising and Walk promotion for the Alzheimer's Association, and consulting and volunteering for the Autism Society of Pittsburgh, to name a few. The Radio Award is granted to someone who has left their mark on the radio industry within sales, on air talent, and/or radio station ownership and management. Tom's lifetime achievement award comes at a particularly special time as we recently celebrated the 100th anniversary of the first commercial radio broadcast right here in our very own backyard.
